A passport that meets Schengen rules
It should be issued within the previous 10 years, have at least two empty pages and remain valid at least three months beyond the final departure from the Schengen Area.
A practical route for UK residents who need a Croatia Schengen visa — confirm Croatia is responsible for the trip, complete Crovisa, then prepare the UK residence and itinerary evidence for VFS.

standard processing ceilingPublished UK guidance says up to 15 days after the Embassy receives the file, with possible extensions.
UK status bufferPublished VFS guidance asks for residence permission valid one month beyond return.
The answer follows your passport nationality. A UK residence permit proves where you live, but the Croatian Embassy says it does not by itself remove a visa requirement.
British citizens can normally visit Croatia without a visa for permitted short stays within the shared Schengen 90-days-in-180 limit. Separate rules apply to work and longer stays.
If your passport requires a Schengen visa, you normally apply from the UK only when you hold valid UK residence permission. The official guidance does not accept a UK C-type visitor visa for this route.
Use Croatia when it is your only or main destination. For a multi-country trip, compare the stay in each country and follow the main-destination rule rather than choosing a country only because an appointment appears available.

It should be issued within the previous 10 years, have at least two empty pages and remain valid at least three months beyond the final departure from the Schengen Area.
Bring the required proof of UK immigration status. Where status is digital, the published checklist accepts Home Office proof with a share code and asks for validity one month beyond the return date.
Fill in the official online form, upload the supporting documents requested there, print the finished form and bring it to VFS. The uploaded and attached photographs should match.
Use accommodation and transport evidence that makes Croatia the real main destination. Cover every overnight stop, island transfer and onward Schengen segment.
Show recent financial activity and employment, study or other evidence matching your circumstances. Explain sponsorship and relationships where someone else pays.
The policy should cover the entire trip throughout the Schengen Area, including emergency treatment, hospitalisation and repatriation, with at least €30,000 cover.
Prepare the file in the same order as the current VFS checklist. Keep spellings, travel dates and accommodation details consistent across the Crovisa form and every supporting document.
Tourism, private visit, business and cultural or study categories use different supporting evidence. VFS or the Embassy may request more information.
Crovisa is the official online form. VFS receives the in-person application in the UK, while the Croatian authorities decide it.
Check the main destination before starting. The Embassy says it can issue the visa only when the main part of the trip is in Croatia.
Enter names as shown in the passport, upload the supporting documents and print the completed form. Completing the online form is only the first step.
Use VFS for London, Manchester or Edinburgh. The Embassy warns applicants not to use another agent to book an official appointment.
Submit the documents and biometrics where required. Appointment attendance and optional services do not guarantee approval or a particular visa validity.
Share the trip basics and we can help organise the application before the official Croatia submission.

The official UK route requires residence permission and says a UK C-type visitor visa is not accepted.
The online form is only the first stage. Print it and follow the VFS appointment instructions with the supporting file.
The Croatian authorities must be responsible for the actual itinerary. Build the evidence around the journey you genuinely intend to take.
Published processing starts when the Embassy receives the file and can extend. Slot availability and passport return add more time.
