A passport that meets the Schengen rules
The passport should have been issued within the previous 10 years, contain at least two blank visa pages and remain valid for at least three months beyond the planned return from the trip.
Poland uses one of the most direct Schengen application routes in the UK: eligible applicants register through e-Konsulat and submit in person at the Polish Embassy's consular section in London. There is no current UK VFS or TLScontact route for a standard Poland short-stay application.

normal decision periodExceptional cases can extend to 30 or 45 calendar days.
Three decisions come before the form: whether you need a visa, whether the UK route fits your residence, and whether Poland is responsible for the trip.
British citizens can normally visit Poland visa-free for permitted short stays. Many non-British UK residents still need a visa because the requirement follows the passport used for travel, not the fact that the person lives in the UK.
The London checklist asks for UK residence evidence that remains valid for at least one month after the visa expires, with additional Home Office documentation where digital status extends beyond an older physical card.
If your itinerary includes more than one Schengen country, Poland should normally be the main destination by purpose or length of stay. Your transport, accommodation and day-by-day plan should support that choice.
For other destinations on your itinerary, see these country guides:
Six checks that should be complete before the London appointment.
The passport should have been issued within the previous 10 years, contain at least two blank visa pages and remain valid for at least three months beyond the planned return from the trip.
The official London checklist asks for a UK residence permit valid for at least one month after the visa expires. Where relevant, print the Home Office evidence or eVisa record that proves the current permission.
The e-Konsulat form is completed online, but the current UK instructions say supporting documents must be printed and digital versions are not accepted for submission at the appointment.
Bring the printed reserved return or onward journey plus accommodation covering the stay. Tourism files should also make the itinerary and Poland's role as the main destination easy to understand.
The London checklist asks for printed bank or credit-card statements from the previous three months, together with employment, study or self-employment evidence that fits the applicant's profile.
The policy should show the applicant's name, cover the intended stay across the Schengen area and provide at least €30,000 of qualifying emergency medical and repatriation cover.
The London file is built around a printed e-Konsulat form, qualifying UK residence, recent finances, occupation, insurance and a travel plan that clearly supports Poland as the destination.
The Polish Embassy page states that all submission documents must be printed. Check the live purpose-specific section before the appointment because tourism, visits, business, sport and conference files require different supporting evidence.
Poland does not currently outsource the standard UK Schengen route to VFS or TLScontact. The official journey runs through e-Konsulat and the Polish Embassy's London consular section.
Tourism/visit, family of Polish nationals, business, conference/sport and other purposes use different appointment rules and supporting documents. Choose the category that matches the real trip.
For tourism and visits, current London guidance says new dates are released every Sunday at 11:00 AM. Several other C-visa categories use a preliminary application and allocation system with Sunday and Wednesday selections.
Bring the printed application and the complete printed evidence set. Visa registration itself is free; the Embassy says consular staff cannot intervene in the appointment-selection process.
The decision is made by the Polish authority, not by a private appointment seller. After a decision, the passport can be collected or returned by post where the official requirements for postal return are met.

Treat the e-Konsulat appointment wait and the consular decision period as two different parts of the timeline.
Official Polish guidance says a Schengen application should be lodged no earlier than six months and no later than 15 calendar days before the planned journey.
The Polish Embassy states that the consul normally decides a C-type Schengen visa within 15 calendar days after the application is lodged.
The official UK page says the decision period can extend to 30 or 45 days where the case requires additional examination.
The appointment calendar is separate from processing. Tourism and visit dates are currently released on Sundays at 11:00 AM, while several other C-visa categories follow a different e-Konsulat allocation workflow.
Poland publishes the London consular amount directly in pounds, so this page uses the current UK figure rather than converting a euro amount ourselves.
The Embassy says the visa fee is paid on the appointment day, preferably by card, and is non-refundable regardless of the decision. Confirm the live consular table before attending because official fees can change.
Current official Polish guidance says Schengen visa applications in the UK are submitted in person at the Consular and Polish Diaspora Section of the Embassy of Poland in London. No other Polish consular office in the UK is authorised to issue visas.
The official route is direct: e-Konsulat for registration and appointment, then the London consular section. There is no current UK VFS or TLScontact submission centre for a standard Poland Schengen application.
The biggest Poland-specific errors are usually about the route, the appointment system and the way the file is prepared for London.
The current official Poland route is direct through the London consular section. Private pages that advertise a Polish VFS appointment are not describing the official UK process.
Tourism/visit dates are currently released on Sunday at 11:00 AM, while several other C categories use a preliminary application, email confirmation and twice-weekly allocation process.
The official UK page says documents must be printed and digital versions are not accepted for submission. The online form is not a substitute for the physical file.
The London checklist asks for qualifying UK residence evidence valid for at least one month after the visa expires, with printed Home Office evidence where digital status needs to be shown.
A British citizen can normally make permitted short visits visa-free, while a UK resident travelling on a visa-required passport may need a Schengen visa. Eligibility follows nationality and travel purpose.
Answers to common searches about e-Konsulat, London appointments, UK residence, printed documents, fees and Poland visa processing time.
UK residence by itself does not decide whether you need a visa. British citizens can normally visit Poland visa-free for permitted short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. UK residents travelling on passports from visa-required countries normally need a Schengen visa before travel.
Current official Polish guidance says Schengen visa applications in the United Kingdom must be submitted in person at the Consular and Polish Diaspora Section of the Embassy of Poland in London. No other Polish consular office in the UK is authorised to issue visas.
No for the current UK short-stay route. Poland accepts Schengen visa applications directly through its London consular section, with appointment registration handled through the official e-Konsulat system. Third-party websites that describe a UK VFS route should not be treated as the official process.
For the current Schengen Visa C tourism or visit category, the Embassy says new appointment dates are released through e-Konsulat every Sunday at 11:00 AM. If no dates appear, the currently released slots have been fully booked.
For several non-tourism C-visa categories, applicants save a preliminary application, confirm the email within 48 hours and complete the full application within another 48-hour window. Official guidance says appointments are allocated twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The current Poland-in-the-UK checklist asks for a UK residence permit valid for at least one month after the visa expires. Where digital Home Office status extends beyond an older physical card, the page asks for additional Home Office evidence such as a printed eVisa record.
The current Polish Embassy London page lists the Schengen visa application fee as £79 and the reduced fee for children aged 6–12 as £40. Children under 6 and certain other categories are exempt. The fee is non-refundable even if the visa is refused.
Official Poland-in-the-UK guidance says the consul normally decides a Schengen visa within 15 calendar days. In exceptional cases the period may extend to 30 or 45 days. The appointment wait through e-Konsulat is separate from the decision period.
The UK checklist asks for printed bank or credit-card statements from the previous three months showing the applicant name, balance and limits, plus evidence of current occupation. Poland also publishes entry-level means-of-subsistence benchmarks, including 300 PLN for stays up to four days or 75 PLN per day for longer stays, but the visa file is assessed as a whole rather than by one number alone.
The current official UK page states that documents must be printed and that digital versions are not accepted for submission. The e-Konsulat form itself is completed online, then printed and signed for the in-person appointment.
